Fork seals hold the oil inside the fork and keep road grime out. When they fail, oil runs down the lower legs, the fork dives and packs over bumps, and contamination can eventually reach the front brake. A fresh set restores proper damping and a clean, dry-working fork. Always replace them as a pair.
